Our Journey begins in 2003, with MSc Marinus Mieremet, the inventive force behind our project, embarking on the development of a pioneering wind turbine model. In the spirit of Newton's renowned assertion, "If I have seen a little further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants," we draw inspiration from the monumental legacy of Archimedes, whose influence permeates our journey.

The foundation of this innovative design is rooted in the pioneering works of the esteemed Archimedes. While Archimedes meticulously explored the volumes of various shapes such as circles, triangles, and squares, he notably left the spiral untouched. It is this gap that the Archimedes rotor ingeniously fills.

In 2006, the first patent application marked the inception of the Archimedes Windmill (AWM). Subsequently, a series of patents were submitted and approved. Notably, beyond its visually striking design, the mathematical properties of the shape are equally remarkable.

In 2012, MSc Marinus Mieremet made the strategic move to South Korea, forging a collaborative partnership with the esteemed Korean company Esco RTS. Together with Esco RTS, alongside renowned institutions such as Pusan National University, Borim, and other Korean collaborators, all testing and developmental activities were centralized in Korea. These comprehensive assessments included performance wind tunnel tests, wind force evaluations reaching speeds of up to 50 m/s, and extensive field trials conducted across diverse geographic locations including South Korea, The Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Poland, Czech Republic, Dutch Antilles, and India. Notably, the Archimedes Windmill (AWM) underwent rigorous testing in virtually every conceivable weather condition.
